Cabagnot's night against Meralco ended early after he suffered a broken nose.
Alex Cabagnot was absolutely balling for San Miguel Beer against Meralco in the final game of PBA game 2016.
The veteran point guard was up to 17 points at the half and ended up with 20 on an incredible plus 27 in 21 minutes of play.
However, his night ended early after his nose got broken after a collision with Bolts forward Cliff Hodge in the third quarter. Hodge was later assessed with a flagrant foul.
He didn't play the rest of the game and was rushed to the nearby San Juan De Dios hospital.
"Alex Cabagnot is straight to the hospital siya dahil broken nose," SMB head coach Leo Austria confirmed in the post-game press conference.
"I think he really played hard ano, and he wants to win eh. Unfortunately tinamaan siya. He's a tough guy, and he wants to come back but I think baka next game na. Actually it will depend dahil we will not sacrifice his health para sa game," Austria added.
Hodge was sought for comment after the game regarding the incident but the Meralco forward politely refused to be interviewed.
