Dropping a sorry decision to the champs, Terrence Romeo and Globalport make their case again as the no. 2 team in the Philippine Cup.
Only two teams are currently in the 2017 Philippine Cup Quarterfinals and so far, three teams have been formally eliminated.
With Wednesday's lineup at the Cuneta Astrodome featuring four teams still in the playoff hunt, action should pick up a little bit as the PBA nears the end of this particular elimination round.
In the first game at 4:15 p.m., the currently eight-running Blackwater Elite look to solidify their case for a post-season slot as they battle the Star Hotshots who currently sit at ninth place.
With an even 5-5 record, the surprising Elite play their last regular season game with hopes of making it to the next round once the rest of the field plays itself out over the next week.
On the other side, the 4-4 Hotshots start a three-game stretch that should determine whether or not they make the playoffs in the first conference of their new era.
In the second game at 7:00 p.m., TNT KaTropa (5-4) and the Globalport Batang Pier (6-4), two teams that figure in a four-way tie for the 3rd-6th spots take on each other for the right to join Phoenix at second place.
With the chase for the last playoff bonus heating up, getting to win no. 6 boosts their chances of taking over the no. 2 spot but also would probably seal their place in the quarterfinals.
