Meet Star's new Mr. Hotshot
Over the last four games, all of which were Star victories by an average of 27.8 points, Maliksi has bounced back quite nicely from his Alaska debacle, going for 24.3 points per outing.

After missing not one, not two, but three go-ahead buckets in Star's overtime loss to Alaska three weeks ago, Allein Maliksi has been on an absolute tear for the Hotshots.

Over the last four games, all of which were Star victories by an average of 27.8 points, Maliksi has bounced back quite nicely, going for 24.3 points per outing.

His latest scoring masterpiece Wednesday against Mahindra was his best though as the former UST Growling Tiger once again came off the bench and scored a career-high 33 points.

What's more impressive is that Maliksi was near-perfect from the field, shooting 78 percent and was 7-of-8 from beyond the arc.

"Yung sa Alaska game, yung last shot na nag-miss at yung dalawang potential game-winner na nag-miss din, nasa isip ko nun, it will either make you or break you," Maliksi said, recalling that fateful Wednesday night when he turned from hero to goat in a matter of minutes.

"Chinallenge ko yung sarili ko na i-improve pa yung shooting ko at finocus ko yung mindset ko na lahat ng proper technique para magawa ko para mataas yung percentage ko. Gusto ko din itaas yung level ng basketball ko. Ito na yung chance to grab the break yung opportunity na binibigay sa kin," he added, taking advantage of an obvious hole left in the Star lineup since a certain super scorer left the team.

Playing limited minutes as the Hotshots' sixth man hasn't stopped Maliksi from dropping big numbers. However, the Hotshots dominating opponets has robbed him of chances to try and break his previous career-high of 29 points.

He finally did it against the Floodbuster, still while only playing a little over 22 minutes.

"Last two games ko pa gusto makuha yun [career high] kaso medyo mga blowout na yun kaya hindi na kami pinasok ni coach," Maliksi said.

"Thankful ako ngayon na nakuha ko na yung career high ko," he added.
