A message to the barangay: time to be a little worried
Tim Cone's squad is now down 0-2 to a streaking Star side. Time to start getting a little worried.

A message to the barangay: still not the time to panic but it's time to start getting a little more worried.

Now down 0-2 in a best-of-7 against rival Star, Brgy. Ginebra all of a sudden can't find a way to close out games in the playoffs.

While the Gin Kings still take solace in the fact that they only lost two close games, the absolute truth remains that the Hotshots are now halfway through to their journey to the PBA Finals.

And if Ginebra can't start winning close games, or any kind of games for that matter, this series may be over faster than you can say "ganado sa buhay."

"There's gotta be [sense of urgency]. Your're down two games, you should have had that sense of urgency since Game 1," veteran Jayjay Helterbrand says of Ginebra's latest predicament.

"That’s just the mentality that you gotta have. This is the playoffs. You can’t go out there relaxed thinking there’s a Game 3 or Game 4 or whatever. Every game is a do-or-die game. That’s the kind of mentality you gotta have. Hopefully the next couple of games we can show that," he added.

After losing two straight, Game 3 now turns into an absolute must-win for the barangay. Lose that contest and you basically need a "Beeracle" to win.

The Gin Kings are known for their "Never say Die" attitude, it's the time to put that in play.

"We always do it the hard way. We’ve been doing it the hard way the whole conference. It’s not over. We’re down two games but it takes 4 to win," Helterbrand said.

"We’re not gonna give up, just keep trying. It’s been a close game. It’s not like they’ve been dominating the series," he added.
