WIN AND LOSE. Paul Desiderio will be away from his significant other for the third year in a row.
Paul Desiderio is the proud owner of back-to-back wins – both coming in less than 24 hours.
On Monday night, the burly forward powered University of the Philippines through Bulacan State University in a preseason tournament.
Then on Tuesday morning, he starred in CafeFrance’s triumph over Wangs in the 2017 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup.
The two wins were already more than enough to make Desiderio’s Valentine’s Day a sweet one. “Masarap. Masarap naman talaga manalo,” he expressed.
Now, if only he could taste the same sweetness off the court.
Unfortunately, the 19-year-old’s significant other is far away in Cebu.
In fact, this is the third year in a row that the Cebuano will be in Manila for the day of hearts. Meaning, this is also the third year in a row that he won’t have his significant other by his side.
Still, Desiderio said that, indeed, absence only makes the heart grow fonder. As he put it, “’Di naman importante yung (Valentine’s Day). Ang importante, mahal ko siya.”
Instead, the next in line to be King Maroon will have dinner with family.
And as for his significant other? “Baka pagpunta ko na lang dun (Cebu) next week,” he expressed.
