Ping welcomes JDV to complete Ginebra lineup: Para walang excuse

"Yun yung gusto namin na kailangan buo talaga Ginebra para walang excuse excuse." --- Marc Pingris.
Brgy. Ginebra was not the only one that welcomed Joe Devance with open arms Monday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Star's Marc Pingirs welcomed him back too.
With the Manila Clasico semifinals in the Philippine Cup already at a crucial Game 3, Devance battled through a left foot injury to make his series debut.
And although he only ended up with six points, it was enough to help the Gin Kings pick up the victory to cut their deficit in the best-of-7 to just one game, 1-2.
"Ka-text ko nga si Joe kanina. I'm happy na you're back sabi ko. See you in next game ganun. I'm happy talaga na bumalik siya, yun yung gusto namin na kailangan buo talaga Ginebra para walang excuse excuse," Pingris said on JDV's return.
"Kung talo kami, talo kami. Kung talo sila, talo sila ganun. Mas okay yung buo talaga sila so I'm happy na nakabalik si Joe dahil siya yung kumbaga leader nila sa loob eh," he added.
While Pingris appreciated Devance completing Ginebra's lineup, one thing Ping did not is the officiating.
Well, sort of.
"Ayaw ko magsalita kasi baka ma-fine ako ni Commissioner. Pero for me, maraming fouls. Sobrang daming fouls," Pingirs said who wound up with 12 points and 18 rebounds in the Game 3 loss.
"Alam ng mga referees ‘yan. Bakit sila magso-sorry sa amin? Kumbaga, siguro nami-miss nila [calls]. Tao lang rin naman sila kaya nagkakamali. Accepted rin naman ang sorry nila. Promise yan, hindi ako gumagawa ng storya pero nagso-sorry talaga sila," he added.
Despite his complaints with the referees, Pingirs did admit that the Hotshots digged their own grave late in Game 3. Star's vaunted defense was there but the offense was nowhere to be found, leading to a 14-2 Ginebra run to close the win out.
"Pero talagang kasalanan rin namin kasi nag-give up kami. Yun lang naman talaga ang dahilan kung bakit kami natalo," he said.
