Comm. Narvasa says semifinals officiating has been ‘fine'
NO WORRIES.

Only one has been disciplined thus far, but all four teams in the semifinals of the 2016-2017 PBA Philippine Cup have had something to say about officiating.

The league office levied fines on four members of Star on Thursday for “comments detrimental to the PBA.”

Ginebra, the Hotshots’ semifinals opponent, has also brought up some concerns with some calls and non-calls.

In the other Final Four pairing, both San Miguel and Tropang TNT have also been in a heated discussion about so-called “special treatment” from referees.

With both semifinals series all even and highly-competitive, officiating has, of course, been under the microscope of all parties.

Commissioner Chito Narvasa has been re-assuring them from all of their fears, however. Asked how he has viewed the officiating, he answered, “I think it’s fine. We’re trying to run a good game, a fair game for everybody.”

He then continued, opening his doors to all parties, “If they find something wrong, they can go to the Commissioner’s Office.”
