Beermen, not KaTropa, were the ones who had fun on Troy’s wedding day

I DO. Arwind Santos and the rest of San Miguel overwhelmed a TNT lineup that was missing Troy Rosario.
Troy Rosario was unavailable for what would have been a Finals-clinching win for TNT on Saturday.
Of course, he had more than enough reason not to be at the MOA Arena – it was his wedding day, after all.
With the KaTropa falling to San Miguel and forced into a do-or-die Game 7, coach Nash Racela was quick to admit that the absence of their versatile forward may have had a negative effect on them. “Maybe it was a factor. Maybe it was,” he expressed post-game.
Opposing coach Leo Austria appeared to be even more certain. “Kanina, wala si Rosario and medyo nahirapan sila sa rotation. It was very evident na hindi nila alam paano gamitin yung stetch 4,” he explained.
He then continued, “Ranidel (de Ocampo) was the only stretch 4 they had. They tried si (Danny) Seigle, pero it didn’t materialize.”
Indeed, with the San Miguel defense keyed in on him, de Ocampo only had five points. Seigle, meanwhile, was only able to contribute two points.
“Kaya kailangan nila si Rosario,” the mentor of the Beermen said.
The final score with Rosario absent read, 104-88, in favor of the defending champions.
Rosario’s wedding day is over with, however.
Still, Austria was hoping otherwise. “Sana, sa Monday, meron siya ulit wedding,” he joked to reporters who immediately burst into laughter at the candid comment.
He was quick to add, “Joke only. Biro lang yun ano.”
Turning serious, the San Miguel coach said he wished the newlyweds the best. As he put it, “Congratulations to Troy. I hope na maganda samahan ninyo at tumagal kayo.”
