No reason for Ginebra not to win two straight and stun Star
"Well, we beat them twice di ba? Two in a row." --- LA Tenorio.

Brgy. Ginebra already won back-to-back games twice to save their Philippine Cup campaign. There's no reason they can't do it a third time to eliminate Star and enter the Finals for a second straight conference.

Now down 2-3 in Manila Clasico, the Gin Kings have no other choice but to beat the Hotshots two in a row once again in order to keep their All-Filipino hopes alive.

And while they got clobbered in Game 5, the Gin Kings remain confident of their chances.

They already did it twice in the past two weeks alone. There's no reason they can't do it again.

"Well, we beat them twice di ba? Two in a row," LA Tenorio said right after Ginebra dropped an 80-89 decision to Star Friday.

"Eh nandito na kami sa sitwasyon na ito Alaska pa lang eh nung quarterfinals. So hopefully yung focus na ginawa namin that time, magawa namin next game," he added.

Just like they did against the Aces in the previous round and to the Hotshots earlier in this series, Ginebra is looking at taking one game back before trying to figure out how to complete the two-game sweep.

"We just have to get the first game. Yun lang importante. We're not looking ahead na talunin sila twice," Tenorio said.

In this dire situation, that's really the only mindset you need especially after a falt performance in Game 5.

Despite winning back-to-back games in the series, the Gin Kings all of a sudden lost momentum in the middle quarters and got outscored by 17 points to basically hand the win to the Hotshots.

Ginebra did go on a late-game uprising but it was futile effort to take a 3-2 lead. However, the Gin Kings are banking on that resistance in order to hopefully even the series at 3-3.

"If we are not awake right now, then we are in trouble," Jay-jay Helterbrand said.

"It's a must win for us next game or else it's Boracay time. We gotta win the next game," he added.
