A day ago, Kiefer Ravena’s game-winner went in-and-out.
On Monday (Philippine time) in Dubai, Beau Belga’s game-tying try went short.
Like Ravena, Belga was also unable to save the day and for the second straight game in the 2016 Dubai International Basketball Tournament, the Mighty-backed squad suffered a heartbreaker of a loss, 92-95, this time to Lebanon’s Sagesse.
The Philippines had a seven-point lead early in the fourth before American import Terrell Stoglin took charge for Lebanon by pouring in 16 points in the quarter.
Taking both the lead and the momentum, Sagesse rampaged through Mighty Sports in the final frame en route to a three-point advantage in the dying seconds. There, Ravena found Belga beyond the arc, but the long-distance attempt didn’t even graze the front of the rim.
With another heartbreak, the Philippines dropped to 0-3 in the invitational. They get a rest day to regroup on Tuesday (Philippine time) before being in a must-win situation for all of their three remaining games.
