Blur can only hope TNT learned its lesson after Game 7 loss
The Blur sat out the do-or-die contest against the defending two-time Philippine Cup champions after he sustained a hamstring injury in Game 6.

Missing out on Game 7 against San Miguel Beer and a chance to make another PBA Finals, TNT's Jayson Castro could only think of what would have been.

The Blur sat out the do-or-die contest against the defending two-time Philippine Cup champions after he sustained a hamstring injury in Game 6.

And while his team gave a gallant effort against the Beermen, the KaTropa clearly struggled before limping to an 83-96 decision Monday.

TNT failed to advance despite leading twice in the series.

"Malaki yung chance namin," Castro said following the elimination. "Pero yun nga, nangyari lang talaga yung hindi inaasahan."

"Wala rin naman tayong dapat sisihin dun. Athlete lang tayo, hindi naman tayo superhuman," he added talking about his injury.

Missing out on the Finals for the fifth straight conference, Castro can only hope that his team can carry a lesson moving forward.

A lesson on how to properly close out a series so they can start competing for championships again.

"Sa akin, lesson learned na lang talaga ito," he said. "Ang pinaka-importanteng lesson para sa amin, matuto kung paano mag-close our ng series."

"Para pagdating sa susunod na playoffs, matuto kami kung paano namin ma-grab yung mga opportunity namin," he added.

As for his injury, the Blur clarified that he'll be ready to go for the Commissioner's Cup which will open next month. In fact, if TNT made the All-Filipino Finals, he would have returned by Game 3 at least.

"Within two weeks, mag-start na ako mag-rehab para sa next conference," Castro said.
