Following a Game 7 win in Manila Clasico, Jawo had the chance to remind the current batch of Gin Kings that the work is far from done.
With Ginebra once again needing a boost for Game 7 of the Manila Clasico semifinals, a familiar name came through for support.
Living Legend Sonny Jaworski showed up at the MOA Arena Tuesday night as the Gin Kings battled the Hotshots with a slot in the Philippine Cup Finals on the line.
Ginebra ended up winning, and at the dugout afterwards, Jawo had the chance to remind the current batch of Gin Kings that the work is far from done.
"I congratulated them, but they haven't achieved anything yet," Jaworski said who was also present at the Big Dome in Game 6 of the Governors' Cup Finals last season as Ginebra ended an eight-year title drought.
"You got to work hard, prepare, think of who your opponent is, and analyse whatever you're lacking. Look at their strong points and work against that," he added.
With Ginebra taking on the San Miguel Beermen for the All-Filipino championship, the Gin Kings winning Manila Clasico was just one step towards making it to a bigger goal.
Jawo made sure to remind the players just that.
"You won the game to enter what you want to achieve. It's just a step, but there's still so many steps you got to do," he said.
