"There's always pressure but all we see is opportunity." --- Marcio Lassiter as San Miguel prepares to capture a third straight Philippine Cup title.
Most teams wilt under pressure, some simply can't handle it.
Fortunately for their fans, the San Miguel Beermen actually thrive under the bright lights. And with the team hoping to become only the second squad to win the PBA's Perpetual trophy, the spotlight is as bright as it could get for the two-time All-Filipino champs.
They love it.
"There's always pressure but all we see is opportunity," gunner Marcio Lassiter said as San Miguel prepares to capture a third straight Philippine Cup title.
"It's always a great opportunity to be in this kind of position. We worked so hard to get to this. We're not going to stop working hard to achieve our goal," he aaded.
Having to deal with Ginebra and it raucous crowd only adds to the excitement of San Miguel in its title defense.
That wild atmosphere of the barangay in a Finals series certainly has the champs pumped up as they continue to chase history.
"I feel like players step up. It's always fun to play in a packed gym," Lassiter said.
"It's just the adrenaline rush will kick in, and you're not gonna notice a lot of commotion, I think. We don't control what people say, we just control what our team does, so that's what we're gonna do," he added.
