Sol wants to be remembered as a champion

According to Sol Mercado, making it to the championship round don't mean a thing if there's no ring.
Playing in his second straight PBA Finals, the approach for Solomon Mercado remains the same.
Making it to the championship round don't mean a thing if there's no ring.
"Whenever you get you get here, that's not the goal," Mercado said as the Gin Kings prepare to take on two-time defending champion San Miguel for the 2017 PBA Philippine Cup title.
"Our goal is to win the championship and being here [in the Finals] is not enough. It's not satisfying enough just to get to the championship," he added.
Not exactly sure if Mercado is a disciple of Kobe Bryant but that's some Mamba Mentality right there.
Second place means you're the first loser right?
Mercado certainly doesn't want his new "home" of Ginebra to fall into the dubious category at the end of this seven-game series.
"No one knows who got second place last conference or last year in the All-Filipino. Those guys aren't remembered, we want to be remembered," Mercado said.
"We feel like we're a special group. The goal is to win for sure, it's gonna be tough but that's the goal," he added.
