Gary David, at 38-years-old, remains a ticking time bomb just waiting to explode.
‘El Granada’ showed that on Friday (Philippine time) as his explosion boosted Team Philippines to its first win, 94-80, at the expense of Ball Above All in Dubai.
David drank from the fountain of youth and fired all of his 15 points in the final frame to lead the Mighty Sports-backed squad to its first win in six games.
The seasoned veteran put on a show in the final quarter and his teammates only followed suit as their outscored their opponents, 34-14.
Jeron Teng also turned in his best performance in the tournament with 22 points while Justin Brownlee posted a 25-point, 14-rebound double-double.
Kiefer Ravena still did not suit up for the game as he’s still mending to his injured right hand.
With five losses in a row to begin the tournament, the Philippines will not be making it into the next round.
With a win in their last assignment, however, Mighty Sports will at least go home with a smile.
