Zero positive things for Ginebra in Game 1 of PBA Finals

"The only positive is it's over with and we can move forward to Game 2." --- Tim Cone after Ginebra dropped Game 1 of the Finals to San Miguel by 27 points.
After Ginebra literally led for only 21 seconds in Game 1 of the 2017 PBA Philippine Cup Finals, head coach Tim Cone gave the most honest answer about his team's performance against two-time defending champion San Miguel Beer.
Asked if there was a ray of sunshine in the Gin Kings' crushing series-opening defeat to the Beermen, Cone was stone cold.
"Zero. Absolutely none," Cone said about Ginebra's positives in an 82-109 loss. "The only positive is it's over with and we can move forward to Game 2."
After showing incredible effort to erase a 2-3 series deficit against Star in the Manila Clasico semifinals, the Gin Kings were absolutely flat in the opening salvo of the All-Filipino Finals.
After Ginebra scored the series' first field goal to go up 2-1, the Beermen responded with a 16-0 blast and never looked back.
At one point, San Miguel was up by 36 points, making a play at the most lopsided Finals victory in PBA history.
"We were horrible all the way through the game, from start to finish. We weren't ready and that's on me. I should've gotten our guys ready and we weren't ready," Cone said as no Ginebra starter scored more than five points in the Game 1 shocker.
Despite losing by 27 points, Cone is not sweating the Gin Kings's now 0-1 series deficit.
The focus now shifts to Game 2 as far as the Ginebra mentor is concerned.
"It's one game. It's a seven-game series. There's no pogi points in winning 40 points or 30 points in a series. It's only about Ws and Ls. They got the W, we got the L," he said.
"We're not going to sit back and regret about this one. It's done. We got to be ready for the next one," he added.
