Amazing Arwind wants San Miguel to stay hungry for PBA titles

"Sana manatili pa rin kaming uhaw sa championship." --- Arwind Santos.
If there ever was a hero in Game 5 of the 2017 PBA Philippine Cup Finals for San Miguel Beer, it had to be Arwind Santos.
Every time Brgy. Ginebra made a run and the Beermen needed an answer, Santos provided it.
Need a three to silence the raucous Ginebra crowd? Arwind has you covered. How about a big block to prevent the Gin Kings from coming back? Santos the Tapal King to the rescue.
You need a big dunk to seal three straight Philippine Cup championships? Arwind has something better, a dunk so special even Spider-Man would approve.
Lost in the greatness of Chris Ross, the Salt Bae and Muhammad Ali shirt of Marcio Lassiter, the clutchness of Alex Cabagnot, and the imposing presence of June Mar Fajardo, Santos was easily the powerful steam that made the San Miguel engine run.
Arwind has done everything for the Beermen all while taking a backseat despite his MVP status.
"Meron na kaming June Mar. Tapos nandiyan pa sila Chris Ross. Kumbaga hindi ka dapat makipag-agawan. Dapat itaas mo pa sila, suportahan mo sila para mas lalo sila umangat," Santos said of the ultimate team sacrifice he and the Beermen had to make to achieve history.
"Alam mo naman kapag umangat sila, ginawa mo yung part mo na hininto mo yung selos. I'm sure mare-realize ng bawat isa na pwede nila ako tularan. Hindi na ako yung tipong nakikipag-unahan pa sa kanila sa score or sa award. Basta kami masaya kami sa kung saan masaya ang bawat isa. Kagaya nito, champion, lahat masaya," he added.
Making the ultimate sacrifice, Arwind now revels in the sweetness of his latest championship. Even sweeter than last year's Beeracle run.
Yes, the Perpetual Trophy is that big a deal it overshadows even the greatest comeback in PBA history.
"Ito yung tamis na pagka-umihi ka lalanggamin na eh," Santos said, digging deep in his list of #swakwords.
"Mas matamis siyempre. Sobrang nagpapasalamat talaga ako kasi iilan lang naman yung pwedeng makakuha at makatikim ng ganito katamis na tagumpay," he added.
Despite achieving true dynasty status, Arwind wants no end in sight to San Miguel's reign.
Whether it's winning yet another All-Filipino title or making a run for the Beermen's second Grand Slam, Santos wants his team to stay grounded and be hungry for PBA titles.
"Hindi kami humihinto mag-improve at mag-improve. Kaya sana itong nakuha namin hindi lumaki yung ulo ng bawat isa, sana manatili pa rin kaming uhaw sa championship," he said.
