Ginebra simply had no answer for San Miguel says Cone

"You always don't like coming up short. You're here, you wanna put up a better fight that we did." --- Ginebra head coach Tim Cone.
Brgy. Ginebra overcame a lot of odds in the 2017 PBA Philippine Cup.
However, by the time the Gin Kings reached the championship round, Ginebra's Finals opponent was simply too powerful to beat.
Despite a gallant effort, Ginebra bowed down to San Miguel Beer in the All-Filipino, losing the series, 1-4, and allowing the Beermen to make history by winning the Perpetual Trophy.
"They overwhelmed us. It just showed how powerful they were. We didn't have any answers for them," head coach Tim Cone said
Cone, who missed out on what would have been his 20th PBA championship, admitted trying everything to try to slow down San Miguel.
None of his tactics worked.
"We tried to slow the game down. We tried different ways but we just couldn't find a way to consistently give them problems," he said.
Losing the championship rather quickly, Cone remains proud of his crew just for the mere fact that they made it all the way to the Finals even as the 7th seed.
But still, a title would have been better.
"You always don't like coming up short. You're here, you wanna put up a better fight that we did," he said.
"There's so much to be proud about but it's hard to proud after a loss. Wait 24 hours. Talk to me again, I'll be really happy with what we did. It's just hard to react right now," Cone added.
