Why isn’t there any NBTC All-Star from UAAP champ FEU-Diliman?

NONE OF THE ABOVE. Neither Finals MVP L-Jay Gonzales nor energizer Jack Gloria - or any FEU-Diliman player, for that matter - will be playing in the NBTC All-Star Game.
Once again, the best of the best young talent come together in the annual National Basketball Training Center (NBTC).
Unfortunately, however, this year’s event will be missing the freshly-minted champions of the UAAP.
Far Eastern University-Diliman will have no representatives in the 2017 NBTC All-Star Game. That means none from Finals MVP L-Jay Gonzales, team captain Kenji Roman, energizer Jack Gloria, and versatile RJ Abarrientos will be there on March 16 at the MOA Arena.
According to program director Eric Altamirano, the Baby Tamaraws failed to participate in the tryouts scheduled last February 25 and 26.
As it turns out, the boys from Diliman had team functions with school officials during those dates. “Nagkaroon po kasi kami ng lunch ng team kasama yung mga head ng FEU nung February 26,” Roman shared.
The team lunch was apparently part of the victory celebration for the championship they won just two days prior.
Nonetheless, FEU-Diliman has always been a team of no stars in its title run. In fact, its total team effort was the key in trumping John Lloyd Clemente and Nazareth School of National University.
The NBTC All-Star Game will be broadcast on March 17 on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23. It will also be streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com, together with the League Finals, on March 16.
