Tony Mitchell is loving the PBA so far except for one thing.
Tony Mitchell has played in the NBA so he knows what great basketball looks like.
And after getting his first taste of PBA action Wednesday night in Star's win over the Phoenix Fuel Masters in the 2017 Commissioner's Cup, the former Detroit Piston had some things to say about the Philippine brand of hoops.
"The Philippine brad of basketball is good. Everybody in the Philippines know how to play basketball," Mitchell said.
"Great guards here. Basically quality bigs here. Everyone's good here," he added.
Mitchell's first venture in the second oldest play-for-pay league in the world was a good one as well as he led the Hotshots to victory, scoring 24 points and grabbing 16 rebounds.
"We went out with a bang and came up with a win. That's more important. It was an okay win for us," he said.
One things that was not okay probably was him playing through five fouls in a little over 37 minutes of play.
Mitchell also had something to say about that.
"But the refs were terrible. I don't agree with the refs at all. It's kinda too soft," he said.
"In different leagues, it's kind of more physical to me. They call a lot of touch fouls. But other than that, this is a great organization to be part of," Mitchell added.
