Star shines bright in Lanao del Norte to keep Global winless
The win gave Star a clean 2-0 mark for the Commissioner's Cup, half a game behind Meralco for the lead while the Batang Pier dropped to 0-2.

Even with star scorer Terrence Romeo back in tow, Globalport's offense still can't find its niche in the 2017 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

Star scored a second straight dominant win in the mid-season conference, dominating the Batang Pier, 103-77, Saturday at the Mindanao Civic Center in Tubod, Lanao del Norte.

After a close first half, the Hotshots turned up the heat in the second, outscoring the Batang Pier by a combined 23 points to take the fight out of Globalport.

The win gave Star a clean 2-0 mark for the Commissioner's Cup, half a game behind Meralco for the lead while the Batang Pier dropped to 0-2.

Tony Mitchell was once again effective for the Hotshots, going for 22 points and 17 rebounds while rookie Jio Jalalon was good for 16.

Sean Williams led the Batang Pier with 20 points and 14 boards. Stanley Pringle provided 19 and Terrence Romeo scored 13 points in his first game back from typhoid fever.
