Alab headed to playoffs on a hot streak
FINISHING STRONG. Ray Parks Jr. and Alab Pilipinas are entering the semifinals with back-to-back wins.

Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come for Alab Pilipinas in the playoffs of the 2016-2017 Asean Basketball League.

Once again riding the power pairing of Ray Parks Jr. and Lo Domingo, the Filipinos made quick work of also-ran Kaohsiung for a 107-85 blowout on Sunday in Taiwan.

Parks Jr. tallied 21 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists and was backstopped by Domingo who posted 23 points and nine rebounds of his own.

The Philippines improved to an 11-9 standing to end the elimination round and enter its semifinals series with back-to-back wins.

Like their three previous meetings, Alab was in control right from tip-off and their 23-8 advantage after the opening salvo would only increase for the next three quarters.

The Filipinos counted six players in double-digits as American reinforcements Sampson Carter and James Hughes chimed in 16 and 14 points, respectively.

Third-seed Philippines wages war against second-seed Singapore in the best-of-three semifinals that commences next Sunday. The two teams split their meetings in the elimination round, 2-2.

For the Truth, Chris Oliver, Wesley Hsu, and Hsin Wang all had 17 points. Filipino imports Raymar Jose and Achie Inigo then combined for 13 markers.
