Al-Hussaini was drafted second overall by Yeng Guiao to the now defunct Air21/Burger King franchise back in 2010.
Yeng Guiao finally made a trade.
Needing all the help they could get, the NLEX Road Warriors have traded for big man Rabeh Al-Hussainin, reuniting the former UAAP Most Valuable Player with the coach that drafted him to the PBA seven years ago.
The transaction, first reported by Tempo, the Meralco Bolts first sent Al-Hussaini to Blackwater for a 2018 second-round pick. The Elite then shipped the former Ateneo star to NLEX for a 2017 second-round selection.
Blackwater facilitated the swap as conduit since NLEX and Meralco can't make direct trades as sister teams.
Al-Hussaini was drafted second overall by Guiao to the now defunct Air21/Burger King franchise back in 2010. He won Rookie of the Year that season despite getting traded to the then Petron Blaze Boosters.
Al-Hussainin joins an NLEX team in shambles as the Road Warriors have started the 2017 Commissioner's Cup with a 0-3 mark.
