Alaska reinforcement Cory Jefferson is open to the idea of backing up Gilas Pilipinas as a naturalized citizen.
The list of current PBA imports willing to play for Gilas Pilipinas as a naturalized citizen continue to grow.
After incoming TNT import Donte Greene made it known that it would be "a blessing" to play for the Philippine national team, Alaska import Cory Jefferson says he's also open to the idea.
"I wouldn't mind it," Jefferson said Wednesday on the possibility of him joining Gilas.
Despite arriving just two days before Alaska's Commissioner's Cup opener, Jefferson has been steadily impressive for the Aces so far, averaging over 28 points per game while leading the team to a perfect 3-0 mark.
And while Alaska looks like it's poised for another deep playoff run with its early record, Jefferson says things are only about to get better for the Aces as they continue to mesh.
"I feel like it's been a good fit, everybody's playing well. Good chemistry," he said.
"Definitely still working on a few things but we feel it would just get better from here," Jefferson added.
Head coach Alex Compton shared his import's sentiments, saying the Aces could still go for another gear despite their perfect record.
"In terms of the record, I couldn't ask for anything more," Compton said.
"In terms of play, I'm expecting more," he added.
