Pogoy sparks late rally as TNT stuns Blackwater
Pogoy scored a game-high 24 points to lead TNT, shooting 78.5 percent from the field including a perfect 9-of-9 from two-point range. He also had four rebounds and three assists.

RR Pogoy once again proved that he carried his clutch gene from college all the way to the pros.

The former UAAP champion with the FEU Tamaraws led a furious TNT charge as the KaTropa stole one from the Blackwater Elite Friday at the Big Dome, scoring a close 92-89 win in the 2017 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

Fighting through mutltiple double-digit deficits, Pogoy sparked an uprising in the fourth, scoring 11 points in the final period.

His putback with 1:48 to go finally gave the lead to TNT, 89-87, as the KaTropa won back-to-back games for the first time this conference for a 2-1 record.

A booming three from Larry Fonacier moments later served as the insurance basket for TNT before the flagship MVP franchise clamped down on defense in the last 20 seconds to stop the Elite from forcing overtime.

Pogoy scored a game-high 24 points to lead TNT, shooting 78.5 percent from the field including a perfect 9-of-9 from two-point range. He also had four rebounds and three assists.

"It's really hard when you go into a game not knowing [what] to expect," head coach Nash Racela said. "We've been like that the first three games again because of the import situation."

Donte Greene, who replaced Lou Amundson, added 22 points and 13 rebounds for his PBA debut. However, he missed 21 of his 28 shots from the field in almost 37 minutes.

Blackwater, who took an early 12-point lead and maintained control well into the fourth quarter before Pogoy's charge, got 22 points and 31 rebounds.

Now missing both Art Dela Cruz and Mac Belo, the Elite's slide continued in the mid-season conference as the team is now 0-4 for last place.
