DJ Arwind's mission is to keep Beermen happy

"Kailangan gusto din nila yung nasa playlist. Like yung mga pang-import, yung mga pang matatanda, iba-iba hilig niya eh." --- DJ Arwind Santos.
The Beermen are so chill they can practically afford doing parties in their locker room.
After yet another impressive victory Friday night to start the 2017 PBA Commissioner's Cup, loud music can be heard from the San Miguel dugout at the MOA Arena.
On a day when the MOA Arena went lights out earlier than usual, Arwind Santos' beaming face was a great source of light.
Why not though, he was basically in charge of the "party" going on at the San Miguel camp.
Yep, Arwind Santos just added "DJ" on his resume. And considering that he already has a single on top his album, Arwind is actually a musical marvel.
"Lagi naman, dati pa," Santos said on the Beermen listening to music.
"Kailangan gusto din nila yung nasa playlist. Like yung mga pang-import, yung mga pang matatanda, iba-iba hilig niya eh," he added, noting that being the team's DJ is no easy task.
In fact, Arwind is taking this responsibility very seriously as team chemistry is at stake.
Even if music can be considered trivial in San Miguel's grand plan of winning as many PBA titles as possible, everybody still has to be happy with song selections. Arwind knows that.
"Kaya magpapadownload pa ako [more songs] para at least enjoy lahat," he said.
"Mahirap maging leader diyan kung hindi rin naman nila gusto. At least nagugustuhan din nila at nagkakaisa kami. Maganda pa rin na kinatatakutan yung Beermen at the same time happy Beermen din talaga," Santos added.
While the Beermen are a happy bunch right now, there was a time things didn't go rather smoothly for San Miguel.
Yep, Petronovela even made the Beermen take a break from music.
"Panahon pa ito ni coach Ato [Agustin}, kaya lang nung pumasok si [Rajko] Toroman, nag-iba yung mundo, ayaw ng music," Santos said.
But all is good now. What's even better is San Miguel is back to winning titles at a fast rate.
"Binabalik lang namin talaga. Nakaka-relax naman talaga music eh," Santos said.
All is good as long as every member of the team can at least understand the songs. That means "Bagyo" is not part of the rotation for a while.
"Pero sa sampu, meron talagang isa na baligtad ang mundo," he said. "Wag di makaka-relate yung mga import. Baka biglang sabihan ako na 'Arwind what is that? What's that song? What the hell?'" Arwind added.
