KaTropa make it four straight after surviving Mahindra
Donte Greene and the KaTropa continue to climb the standings in the 2017 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

TNT hasn't been winning pretty in the 2017 PBA Commissioner's Cup but the team winning is all that matters.

The KaTropa endured a strong challenge from a game Mahindra Floodbuster before escaping with a close 86-84 victory Sunday at the MOA Arena.

It was the KaTropa's fourth straight win in the mid-season conference, pushing their record to 4-1.

"At least the win today wasn't a come from behind win, I think we were leading all the way," head coach Nash Racela said, noting TNT's last victory two days ago where the KaTropa had to erase a 29-point deficit to beat NLEX in overtime.

"During the half I was telling the team that this is the time to build, develop good habits. Obviously we weren't able to do that. It's just good that we're getting wins despite playing that way," he added.

Despite controlling the majority of the contest, the KaTropa never managed to pull away from the Floodbuster as the team still needed a strong fourth-quarter effort to avoid an upset.

Fortunately, TNT had enough of a lead built during the first half to weather Mahindra's rally.

Donte Greene led the TNT offense with 24 points, 14 rebounds, and four assists but the former NBA veteran continues to fire blanks, shooting only 33 percent from the field.

Troy Rosario and Jayson Castro were the team's top locals with 11 and 10 points respectively.

Keith Wright paced the now 1-5 Floodbuster with 26 points and 13 boards while LA Revilla finally exploded in the new tournament, going for 20 markers in a losing effort.
