BUILDING BLOCKS. Eric Altamirano and Jeron Teng, both multi-titled, are set to serve as the foundations for PBA D-League newcomer Flying V.
PBA D-League rookie team Flying V just got another shot in the arm.
According to team sources, two-time UAAP champion Jeron Teng is set to be at the forefront of the attack of the Thunder for the upcoming 2017 Foundation Cup.
This, only a week after the league newcomer handed over its reins to multi-titled mentor Eric Altamirano.
The development with Flying V signifies that former team AMA was unable to extend its one-conference pact with Teng.
In his debut campaign in the D-League, the De La Salle University product averaged a league-best 23.2 points to go along with 8.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists. In doing so, he carried the erstwhile cellar-dwelling Titans to their first-ever quarterfinals.
Now, Teng will be leading another upstart squad in the Thunder.
There, he will be reunited with Altamirano, his former coach back in his days in the Philippine Under-18 national team.
Teng-led Flying V are set to make their debut when the 2017 PBA D-League Foundation Cup tips-off in late May.
