Mindanao All-Stars get first crack at new Gilas

Jio Jalalon comes home to Cagayan De Oro to lead the Minadanao All-Stars against Gilas Pilipinas.
The 2017 PBA All-Star Games officially kick off Wednesday with the Philippine men's national basketball team taking on the Mindanao All-Star in Cagayan De Oro City.
Playing the first of three games, Gilas Pilipinas will be tested by the Chito Victolero-led squad at the Xavier University gym. Gametime is set at 7:30 p.m. following the shooting stars event.
Mark Barroca and Scottie Thompson lead the first batch of All-Stars that gets a crack at Gilas in the week-long festivities spread out to three cities.
Jio Jalalon, Cyrus Baguio, PJ Simon, Rafi Reavis, Mac Belo, Mo Tautuaa, Sonny Thoss, Carlso Lastimosa, Glenn Khobuntin, Troy Rosario, and Baser Amer complete Victolero's crew.
On the side of the national team, Chot Reyes will have reigning three-time MVP June Mar Fajardo as his centerpiece.
Joining the Kraken are Terrence Romeo, Kevin Ferrer, RR Pogoy, Mike Tolomia, LA Revilla, Matthew Wright, Norbert Torres, Bryan Cruz, Bradwyn Guinto, and Alfonso Gotladera.
With the SEABA Championships coming next month, the national team have used the annual All-Star break to fully test its 25-man lineup.
After taking on the Mindanao All-Stars, Gilas Pilipinas will face the Luzon selection on Friday before wrapping things up against the Visayas All-Stars on Sunday.
