Austria looking for that sweet homecoming at the expense of Gilas

With a loaded Luzon All-Stars at his disposal, San Miguel head coach Leo Austria is looking to finally win at his home province of Quezon as they take on Gilas Pilipinas for the 2017 PBA All-Star Games.
There's no place like home right?
Especially in sports, home-court advantage is a pretty big deal. You don't simply lose too many games if you're on your home floor.
Well, don't tell that to San Miguel head coach Leo Austria.
In his last two trips to his home province of Quezon, the four-time PBA champion coach has walked away with two Ls. The first one came in Game 3 of the 2016 Philippine Cup Finals against the Alaska Aces. The next year, he dropped Game 2 of the All-Filipino title series to Brgy. Ginebra.
Fortunately for him, his Beermen won the championship each time.
However, with a third trip to the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena City, this time as the chief tactician for the Luzon All-Stars against Gilas Pilipinas in the 2017 PBA All-Star Games, Austria is hoping to finally get a sweet homecoming.
"Kanina nga nabanggit ko every time na maglalaro ako dito tatalo kami," Austria said.
"Maybe [tomorrow night] reward na ito dahil merong high and lows yan eh di ba. Hindi naman pwedeng laging talunan. Maybe this is my time na," he added.
With a loaded lineup at his disposal, Austria's chances of winning at Lucena are at its highest in three attempts.
It should also help that a team featuring Jayson Castro, Calvin Abueva, Arwind Santos, Marcio Lassiter, and Japeth Aguilar plan on playing seriously in order to not defeat the main purpose of this week's event, that is to help the national team prepare for the SEABA Championships.
"I told them [the players] na we should be serious in our game tomorrow because that's the only way we could help the Gilas team eh," Austria said.
"I believe itong mga players na to they want to help the Gilas team by playing seriously," he added.
