Things will not get easier for Gilas Pilipinas.
After settling for a draw against the Mindanao selection Wednesday at Cagayan De Oro City, the national team goes right back into action against the loaded Luzon All-Stars as the 2017 PBA All-Star Games shifts to Lucena City in Quezon Province.
Gametime is set on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the Quezon Convention Center right after the usual side events including the three-point shootout and the slam dunk contest.
Failing to walk away with a victory after Mark Barroca's late-game heroics, Chot Reyes' crew will face an even tougher challenger as Leo Austria's Luzon team will feature Jayson Castro, Calvin Abueva, Paul Lee, Alex Cabagnot, LA Tenorio, Marcio Lassiter, Jay Washington, Japeth Aguilar, Arwind Santos, Ranidel De Ocampo, Stanley Pringle, and Mark Caguioa.

After Gilas takes on the Luzon squad, Reyes is expected to announce the final 12 lineup that will compete in the 2017 SEABA Championships next month.
In other events at Lucena, which serves as the main host of the week-long festivities, Terrence Romeo will look to extend his reign as the PBA's three-point king against a tough field that includes Allein Maliksi, Gary Davic, Matthew Wright, LA Tenorio, Juami Tiongson, Marcio Lassiter, Maverick Ahanmisi, Simon Enciso, Jared Dillinger, Ronjay Buenafe, and Larry Fonacier.
In the slam dunk contest, Rey Guevarra hopes to complete a four-peat against challengers Chris Newsome, James Forrester, Jammer Jamito, and Marion Magat.
Finally at th Obstacle challenge, Maverick Ahanmisi's questo for back-to-back titles will have to go through Roi Sumang, RJ Jazul, Justin Melton, LA Revilla, Sol Mercado, Chris Banchero, Chris Ross, Ed Daquioag, Kris Rosales, Emman Monfort, and Stanley Pringle.
