Tim Cone gets first real shot at the new Gilas Pilipinas
In the final leg of the 2017 PBA All-Star Games, the Visayas selection led by the Brgy. Ginebra mentor will have first dibs on the Gilas Pilipinas squad set to compete in the SEABA Championships on May 12-18.

The SEABA 12 is set and Tim Cone is waiting in Cebu to get the first real crack at the new national team.

In the final leg of the 2017 PBA All-Star Games, the Visayas selection led by the Brgy. Ginebra mentor will have first dibs on the Gilas Pilipinas squad set to compete in the SEABA Championships on May 12-18.

Originally set to play for the Visayas selection, June Mar Fajardo and Terrence Romeo will now don the Philippine jersey as Chot Reyes and his staff intends to play the SEABA 12 against Cone's team that now feature James Yap, LA Revilla, Joe Devance, Chris Ellis, Jeff Chan, Jericho Cruz, Chriss Ross, Ronald Tubid, Dondon Hontiveros, Aldrech Ramos, Rabeh Al-Hussaini, and Asi Taulava.

Joining the Kraken and the Bro in Gilas are Jayson Castro, Calvin Abueva, Troy Rosario, Matthew Wright, Allein Maliksi, RR Pogoy, Jio Jalalon, Raymond Almazan, Japeth Aguilar, and Andray Blatche.

Gilas Pilipinas has been pretty busy this past week, playing three games in three cities for the annual All-Star Festivities.

With Fajardo and Romeo leading the way, Gilas fought Chito Victolero's Mindanao selection to a draw in Cagayan De Oro City Wednesday.

The national team then rode the exploits of its cadet crew to upset Leo Austria's loaded Luzon All-Stars in Lucena last Friday.

Gametime for Gilas vs. Visayas will be at 7:00 p.m. Sunday live from Lapu-Lapu City.
