BRAND NEW. Jeron Teng and Thomas Torres will now be tasked the show the way for D-League rookie team Flying V.
The two veterans who led De La Salle University to championships in the UAAP will now be tasked to show the way for a rookie team in its maiden campaign in the PBA D-League.
Two-time collegiate champions Jeron Teng and Thomas Torres headline the lineup for league newcomer Flying V that was bared on Wednesday.
Former pros Gab Banal and Eric Salamat as well as Jan Colina, Aris Dionisio, Mike Gamboa, JR Ongteco, and Luis Sinco will be flanking them.
Teng and Torres are joined by three more former Green Archers in Jovet Mendoza, Oda Tampus, and Joshua Webb. “I think we got a goot squad lalo na kasama ko doon former teammates ko. So sa familiarity, may advantage na kami,” Teng said.
For the two-time UAAP Finals MVP, the Thunder’s outlook also looks bright because of his longstanding relationship with head coach Eric Altamirano. “Siyempre, I know I’m in good hands dahil I’ve known coach Eric since high school. I think I’ll do well in his system and I’m confident that we’ll achieve greater things,” he said.
Of course, Teng said that even though their team was just formed, they already have their sights set on the title. “Siyempre, lahat kami at competitive and we want nothing less than a championship. I think with the lineup we have, kaya naman,” he expressed.
Flying V is set to make its debut when the 2017 Foundation Cup tips-off in late May.
