Paul Lee scored a game-high 23 points to lead Star against his former team.

Star is on to its second winning streak.

Despite playing without Allein Maliksi and Jio Jalalon, the Hotshots still proved to be too much for defending champion Rain or Shine in the 2017 PBA Commissioner's Cup, taking a 99-93 decision Saturday at the Batangas City Coliseum.

After losing back-to-back games, Star has won two straight to improve to 6-2 in the mid-season conference, behind 23 points from Paul Lee and 21 points and 18 rebounds from reinforcement Tony Mitchell.

The win helps the Hotshots earn a place for joint fourth in a top-heavy playoff race.
