Ratliffe returns to Star after unfinished business last year
Playing his first game back in the PBA, Ratliffe, who replaced Tony Mitchell, looked like a man on a mission as he powered Star to an impressive victory over TNT, dropping 37 points, 22 rebounds, and three blocks.

Ricardo Ratliffe just recently wrapped up his season in Korea and was on his way to Dubai.

However, he skipped a month-long tournament in the Middle East and instead went straight ahead to the Philippines to rejoin Star.

He says he had some unfinished business with the Hotshots.

Playing his first game back in the PBA,  Ratliffe, who replaced Tony Mitchell, looked like a man on a mission as he powered Star to an impressive victory over TNT, dropping 37 points, 22 rebounds, and three blocks.

He scored 19 in the second quarter alone as the Hotshots erased an early 16-point deficit to tie Meralco for second place in the Commissioner's Cup.

"Kind of," Ratliffe said when asked if he has some more business to attend to with Star that's why he chose to return to the PBA. "I played here last year, and I really enjoyed these guys. I was thinking of Dubai to see something new but I decided to go with what I know and that was Star Hotshots."

"I really like the coaching staff and players and everything about them. So I just decided to come back in here," he added.

Ratliffe came in the middle of the 2016 Commissioner's Cup, leading the Hotshots all the way to a knockout quarterfinals game against the no. 1 seed San Miguel Beer.

While Ratliffe is returning to the same team, Star has an entirely new presence this season. With Chito Victolero in charge, the Hotshots have morphed into an elite defensive crew.

Just the way Ratliffe likes it really.

"I like the style of play we play  this year. It's kind of similar last year on offense but now I think the defense is just better," he said.

"We take pride on defense. That's why we were able to comeback tonight against a great Talk 'N Text team," Ratliffe added.
