ALL-OUT. Gilas Pilipinas and Batang Gilas were together inside the Araneta Coliseum on Monday.
Gilas Pilipinas do not have a game scheduled for Monday.
Still, the Philippine national team was at the Araneta Coliseum.
With Batang Gilas facing off against Indonesia, the Gilas kuyas were there to cheer on their little brothers. “We are just here to support the younger generation. We are very supportive of them and we are looking forward to them taking our place in the future,” head coach Chot Reyes expressed.
Calvin Abueva, Japeth Aguilar, Raymond Almazan, Jayson Castro, June Mar Fajardo, Jiovani Jalalon, Allein Maliksi, RR Pogoy, Terrence Romeo, Troy Rosario, and Matthew Wright were present at the venue and enjoying Batang Gilas’ domination of the Indonesians.
For Castro, watching the future of Philippine basketball is a more personal matter.
The two-time best point guard in Asia played for the Philippine national youth basketball team back in 2004.
More than their presence, the Gilas kuyas made it a point to show their support to their little brothers.
