Gin Kings out to solidify their case for no. 1
Out of all the teams that are chasing the top seed, the 7-2 Gin Kings have the best shot after owning wins against Star, San Miguel, and TNT.

The only thing sure so far in the 2017 PBA Commissioner's Cup playoffs is that defending champion Rain or Shine would probably end up with the no. 6 seed.

But who knows, maybe the champs even drop to 7th place.

As wild as the race for the lower seeds, the battle for the top-2 spots is a compelling story on its own with five teams having legit cases for a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.

Three of those five teams, and Rain or Shine, will see action Sunday as the PBA stays in Antipolo.

In the first game at 4:30 p.m. at the Ynares Center, the Elasto Painters take on the TNT KaTropa to finish their respective regular season schedules.

At 5-5, the champs are looking to lock up the number 6 seed while the 7-3 KaTropa will look to give themselves a chance to maybe steal a top-2 finish although the flagship MVP franchise will most likely end up at least at fourth place with the way things are going.

In the second game at 6:45 p.m., Brgy. Ginebra is out to solidify its case for number one against a struggling Meralco side.

Out of all the teams that are chasing the top seed, the 7-2 Gin Kings have the best shot after owning wins against Star, San Miguel, and TNT.

Meanwhile, after starting the conference with a 7-1 mark, the Bolts have lost back-to-back games and are limping towards the playoffs.

Meralco beating Ginebra would be a big boost for a team that hopes to regain its edge.
