The curious case of Alex Stepheson's bum stomach

Meralco import Alex Stephenson is the third player this season to have food-related problems after Matthew Wright and Terrence Romeo.
Meralco is currently in an alarming three-game losing skid heading into the PBA Commissioner's Cup playoffs.
In the second game of this current drought, Bolts import Alex Stepheson went AWOL, bothered by fouls and an apparent sickness as Star absolutely shut down Meralco last May 25.
Head coach Norman Black mentioned then that Stepheson may have been dealing with diarrhea and turns out the hulking reinforcement did have a bum stomach.
"I ate something bad. I learned a lesson, you gotta be careful of what you eat," he said.
Stepheson has been the third player this season to deal with a similar sickness. Back in the Philippine Cup, rookie Matthew Wright missed his team's first game after allegedly eating some bad lechon.
Earlier this conference, Globalport star Terrence Romeo dealt with typhoid fever. He thinks it was because of the street food he ate.
Stepheson can't exactly pinpoint what it is that got to him, but he's sure it got to him pretty bad.
"I don't even know. We had an off day so I was just eating a lot. I was relaxing, wasn't really thinking of anything and it just got me," Stepheson said.
"I'm not sure what it was but it got me pretty bad." he added.
Going AWOL in their loss to Star, Stepheson bounced back pretty nicely against Brgy. Ginebra Sunday, posting 18 points and 20 rebounds.
However, it wasn't enough as the Bolts lost a third straight game.
"It was a tough game. We wanted to play strong and get some momentum heading into the playoffs. We lost but we fought," he said.
"We just gotta forget about it. We learned the mistakes we made. The playoffs is a new season so we just gotta focus on winning and let all that go," Stepheson added.
