PAUSE. Rey Nambatac will only be taking the floor once more come the NCAA.
Rey Nambatac will no longer be seeing action in the 2017 Filoil Flying V Preseason Tournament.
Colegio de San Juan de Letran’s top gun suffered an injury during practice and will need at least two weeks to heal up. “Hindi na muna ako maglalaro. Ipapahinga ko na muna ‘to,” he told reporters on Wednesday.
Nambatac shared that medical results revealed that he hyperextended his left knee.
At present, the Knights remain winless through four games. Nambatac is their clear-cut top gun in averaging 23.7 points.
The young squad will be pushed to mature even faster now its leader has been sidelined. Expected to step up will be Jerrick Balanza, JP Calvo, and Bong Quinto.
Allaying fears the faithful over at Intramuros may have, Nambatac said that he will be good to go in time for the NCAA. “Palakas lang ‘to talaga para sa NCAA,” he expressed.
The new season of the NCAA unfolds in early July. There, the Knights are looking to enter the Final Four party they missed last year.
