Marcio Lassiter recorded eight steals against Blackwater, the third most by a local in PBA history.
Marcio Lassiter is one of the best, if not the best, shooters in the PBA.
Everyone knows that.
However, bet you didn't know that Super Marcio can also be a super defender.
Oh yes he can and that's just almost unfair for the opposition right?
Blackwater got a taste of how deadly Lassiter can be on the defensive end Wednesday as the former Gilas standout recorded eight steals against the Elite.
Lassiter's eight steals is not only a career high but is the third most by a local in PBA history behind Ryan Reyes' 10 and Olsen Racela's nine.
"Just playing the passing lanes. I was just being active, just reading what the defense was giving," Lassiter said of his record output.
Known for most of his career as a deadly sniper, Marcio is now making a point to show that he can be as effective on defense.
After all, he knows for himself that he can create havoc on the other side of the floor. It just so happened that people tend to notice his offense more.
"I've always known I can play defense. It is one of my calling cards and I've been doing it my whole career," he said.
"It's just that sometimes, my offense does show up and it's one of the first things they know about me. But it's always good to do both," Lassiter added.
