Solid chemistry behind Ginebra's success says Brownlee
Ginebra has been pretty legit since Justin Brownlee came along. The Gin Kings are now the no. 1 seed with eyes set on a third straight Finals.

Barangay Ginebra has enjoyed quite the success in two conferences playing with import Justin Brownlee so far.

In the 2016 Governors' Cup, the Gin Kings ended an eight-year title drought all thanks to Brownlee's heroics.

In the 2017 Commissioner's Cup, Ginebra has earned the top playoff seed with Brownlee doing most of the heavy lifting.

There's no super secret stuff going on behind the team's recent string of favorable outcomes, it's just a matter of Brownlee and the Gink Kings clicking.

It's like a perfect marriage basically.

"Last conference, we got a lot of time and it was great. There's a lot of chemistry in the team and this conference, we definitely [took] it to another level," Brownlee said Friday after Ginebra secured no. 1 by beating Mahindra.

With an intact core and the league's best record, the Gin Kings are in perfect position to make a run at their third straight Finals to win a second title.

Brownlee thinks that scenario is not too far off, especially since the Gin Kings have been winning a lot using their tried and tested ways.

"It's no different, we just wanna play the same way," he said.

"Use the the fundamentals that coach Tim is teaching us , we just go out there and play hard and hopefully win a championship," Brownlee added.

As the number one seed, Ginebra has a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.

The Gin Kings will face either Globalport or Alaska in the next round as both the Batang Pier and the Aces still have to dispute number eight with a one-game playoff.
