"In short, makapal talaga ang mukha niya." --- Franz Pumaren on Terrence Romeo.
Down by one to Alaska with 21 seconds to go in their playoff for the number 8 seed, Globalport had two options for a possible go-ahead bucket.
Either give the ball to import Justin Harper or to star guard Terrence Romeo. Whoever is available.
Well, Romeo was available and no way Terrence was giving up the ball.
Romeo took it upon himself to take Globalport's final field goal attempt, burying a booming three over Kevin Racal in the last 8.1 seconds to go to give the Batang Pier a 106-104 lead.
"It's an option between Terrence Romeo and Justin [Harper]. Whoever will be available. We have to give credit to the guy, he's really willing to take the shot, that's why he's Terrence Romeo," head coach Franz Pumaren said.
"In short, makapal talaga ang mukha niya. That's a gusty move, it takes one great player willing to take that shot," he added.
For some context, Romeo shot the step-back three without having to worry about a shot clock.
Romeo basically could've taken the same shot without giving Alaska the chance to respond.
But still, it wouldn't be Terrence Romeo if he didn't risk it.
"Sinabi ko na lang din sa kanya sa dugout na siguro nung naglalaro din siya baka ganun din," Romeo said on Pumaren.
"Makapal din ang mukha niya so nagmana ako sa kanya sabi ko," he added.
