Averaging 15.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.4 steals per game for an average of 34.7 statistical points after the elimination round, Alex Cabagnot is on track for his first BPC plum ever.

In a surprising development, San Miguel's veteran point guard Alex Cabagnot emerged as the early leader to win Best Player of the Conference in the 2017 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

Averaging 15.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.4 steals per game for an average of 34.7 statistical points after the elimination round, Cabagnot is on track for his first BPC plum ever.

Behind Cabagnot, who remains a steady clutch presence for San Miguel at 34 years old, the Beermen earned the no. 2 seed in the playoffs after finishing with a 9-2 record.

Globalport's Stanley Pringle is a close second with an average of 33.4 statistical points after going for 20.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 12 games.

Completing the top five of the BPC race are Japeth Aguilar (32.3 SPs), June Mar Fajardo (32.2 SPs), and Terrence Romeo (31.5 SPs).

TNT's Jayson Castro (31.3 SPs), San Miguel's Marcio Lassiter (31.2 SPs) and Chris Ross (30.9 SPs), Ginebra's LA Tenorio (30.2 SPs), and Meralco's Baser Amer (29.6 SPs) make up the top 10.
