No. 1 Brgy. Ginebra is looking to make the semifinals for the third straight conference.
Looking to take full advantage of their respective playoff bonuses, no. 1 Ginebra and no. 2 San Miguel target the semifinals against separate opponents as the 2017 PBA Commissioner's Cup quarterfinals continue Tuesday at the Big Dome.
Armed with a twice-to-beat advantage, the top-seeded Gin Kings take on a confident Globalport side in the main 7:00 p.m. game.
Coming in with a four-game winning streak, Ginebra is looking to advance to its third straight semifinals and prove that its chase to be number one, its first playoff appearance as a top seed in three years, was well worth it.
On the other side, after surviving Alaska in a pulsating battle for the no. 8 spot, the Batang Pier are out to extend their stint in the mid-season conference and force a do-or-die match.
In the first game at 4:15 p.m., no. 2 San Miguel takes on no. 7 Phoenix with the Beermen also holding on to a precious twice-to-beat advantage.
Finising the elimination round at 9-2, the reigning three-time Philippine Cup champions are favored to advance over the Fuel Masters, a team that made the playoffs despite suffering back-to-back defeats to end the elimination round.
