"We have to prepare but yeah, we're one step away [from the Finals]." --- Joshua Smith.
Up 2-0 in a race-to-3 affair, TNT's towering import Joshua Smith is starting to have that Finals feeling.
"I'm excited," the 6'10 Smith said Tuesday after the KaTropa's 107-103 win over top-seed Barangay Ginebra in Game 2 of their 2017 PBA Commissioner's Cup semifinal series.
"That's why I came here [in the PBA]. I came here to win, I came here to compete and so far we've been doing that," he added.
Despite "only" coming up with 16 points and 16 rebounds for TNT in Game 2, Smith remains a big problem for the Gin Kings down low.
And while the KaTropa can already smell a return trip to the Finals for the first time since 2015, the former Georgetown Hoya remains vigilant.
None of TNT's two wins in this series have been easy after all.
"It's gonna be another hard fought game [Game 3]," Smith said who's averaging 25.5 points and 14.5 rebounds against the Ginebra frontline.
"We have to prepare but yeah, we're one step away [from the Finals]," he added.
