SMB import doing his homework on Jayson Castro
"So, I gotta look at a lot of film. I watch a lot of games. Man, he's a clutch shooter, you know? He makes the big shots for their team. Like, he put the daggers in the other team's hearts, you know what I'm saying?" --- SMB import Charles Rhodes on Jayson Castro.

After losing to TNT in the elimination round, San Miguel import Charles Rhodes has longed for his opportunity to get revenge on the KaTropa.

And now that he finally got his wish, San Miguel and TNT will meet for the 2017 PBA Commissioner's Cup title, Rhodes is pumped up.

However, the towering reinforcement has been doing a lot of homework lately because one major TNT factor was missing on the court the first time he faced the KaTropa.

That major factor is Jayson Castro.

"Man, Castro is a tough match-up. I'm watching a lot of film, I already watched Game 1 [of TNT's semifinals vs. Ginebra] so I gotta watch 2, 3, and 4. Because I didn't play against Castro when we played TNT. He was in Gilas," Rhodes said of the Blur ahead of the best-of-7 championship series between the two squads.

San Miguel and TNT met in the elimination round last May 5. At that time, Castro, together with RR Pogoy, Troy Rosario, and June Mar Fajardo, were already busy with the national team's preparations for the 2017 SEABA Championships and didn't see action.

And while Rhodes most defintely knows how Fajardo plays since they're teammates, the Mississippi State University product knows who's the actual best player from the other camp.

"So, I gotta look at a lot of film. I watch a lot of games. Man, he's a clutch shooter, you know? He makes the big shots for their team. Like, he put the daggers in the other team's hearts, you know what I'm saying?" Rhodes said, almost sounding like he's in awe of the Blur.

While he's yet to share the court with Castro, Rhodes is convinved that the Blur will be TNT's X-factor in the Finals.

And for that, he's taking his homework seriously.

"We really gotta contain Castro. Castro is the main x-factor in this series," Rhodes said.
