Smith will play Game 2 for TNT
Playing with a more pronounced limp in Game 1 of the Finals, Smith still managed 21 points and nine rebounds including the game-winning hook shot that gave TNT a 104-102 victory over the Beermen.

Expect Joshua Smith to see action in Game 2 of the 2017 PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals.

According to Philippine Star's Nelson Beltran, TNT did not send any notifications to the PBA regarding an import swap, meaning the 6'10", 300-pound Smith is the KaTropa's official reinforcement for Game 2 set on Friday at the Big Dome.

Per league rules, teams have until 12 noon the day prior to the game to inform the Commissioner's office of any lineup change.

Playing with a more pronounced limp in Game 1 of the Finals, Smith still managed 21 points and nine rebounds including the game-winning hook shot that gave TNT a 104-102 victory over the Beermen.

Post-game, KaTropa head coach Nash Racela said that Smith remains listed as day-to-day.

"Joshua is still day-to-day. He felt a lot better today," the rookie mentor said on Smith, who played over 25 minutes in Game 1.

Even after Smith left the bench again to get treatment on his foot, Racela knew his import wasn't leaving the game for good.

Until he can't actually walk, it appears that Smith will continue playing in these Finals.

"During the game even with Joshua not limping, it’s always in my mind to put him on the bench, rest him, protect him. Syempre if something happens katulad kanina, you see him limping, then initial reaction would be to sub him," Racela said.

"But again yung heart nya, he has a big heart. Sometimes you just look at him and he’ll tell me he’s okay. Even in that last couple of possessions," he added.
