--- Arwind Santos.
Yet another incident marred the 2017 PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals between San Miguel Beer and TNT.
In the fourth quarter of Game 4 Wednesday night, things got a little heated between KaTropa import Joshua Smith and Beermen forward Arwind Santos.
At the 8:22 mark, Smith's head was on the receiving end of an inadvertent chop courtesy of Santos. The hulking 6'10", 300-pound reinforcement obviously did not appreciate Santos' actions and gave the 2013 PBA MVP a shoulder shove.
Santos went down and stayed on the floor for a couple of minutes. Naturally, he denied it was flop but he did admit that he put some acting on it a little.
In fact, he says it was better acting than Mick Pennisi during the veteran center's infamous flop in 2012. Ironically, Pennisi's claim to internet fame was at the expense of Santos' Petron Blaze Boosters.
"Yung akin, yung mga ganung sitwasyon, pwede talagang tawagan, above the shoulder, tumama talaga, dumaplis, kaya inarte ko," he added.
Smith was called for a technical foul for second motion during the fracas but Santos had it worse after he received a flagrant foul penalty 1.
Santos argues that Smith should have been called for a flagrant foul as well because his shove was above the shoulder.
But still, the veteran forward insists that the flop was necessary to sell the call although it never turned out the way the Beermen would have hoped for.
