TNT finally got the Castro takeover it sorely needed
Jayson Castro finally took over for TNT in Game 4 and the KaTropa beat San Miguel to tie the Commissioner's Cup Finals at two games each.

In Game 3 of the Commissioner's Cup Finals, Jayson Castro didn't look like the reigning two-time best point guard in Asia.

He didn't even look like the best point guard in his own team.

In Game 3 of the Finals against San Miguel, Castro, despite scoring 17 points, missed 10 of his 18 shots from the field and committed 10 turnovers.

The KaTropa got beat up in the second half of that game and went down 1-2 vs. the Beermen.

Castro made sure to apologize to his team and vowed to bounce back.

Come Game 4, particularly in the fourth quarter, he did just that.

The Blur looked a lot like the reigning two-time best point guard in Asia in the final 12 minutes of Game 4, torching the San Miguel defense in the fourth quarter with blinding speed and near-perfect decision making.

Castro poured 10 of his 17 points in the fourth period as TNT tied the best-of-7 championship series at two games each.

"As a veteran, syempre alam ko naman na ang sama ng nilaro ko nung Game 3 so nag-apologize ako sa mga teammates ko," Castro said.

"So this game sabi ko sa kanila, babawi ako. Maging example din, pakita ko rin na even masama yung game ko kailangan ko pa rin maging confident. Confident na man ako sa mga shots ko tsaka sa defense ko kaya ko naman umi-stop. Siguro naging maganda lang [this game]," he added.

After turning the ball over 10 times in Game 3, Castro's errors were down to two in Game 4. And although his assists were also down from three to one, the Blur was satisfied more or less on his decision making.

Because sometimes, it may be best if he simply just took over for TNT instead of constantly finding the open man.

"The more na iniisip ko yung assists, the more na nagtu-turnover ako eh," Castro said.

"May mga wide open shots na [ako] na iniisip ko pa [ipasa]. Sabi ni coach Nash, tignan mo rin yung shot mo kasi yun yung binibigay ng defense eh," the Blur added.
