The Philippines first scored a pulsating 19-17 win against Israel to kick off pool play before giving top-seed The Netherlands all it could handle in a thrilling 10-13 defeat.

Seeded seventh in the 20-team field, the Filipinos will next face Poland and Turkmenistan and will have get at least second place to move on.

Aside from Edu, the 17-year-old, 6'9" Fil-Nigerian rising star, the Philippine U-18 team also has Rhayyan Amsali, Juan Gomez De Liano, and Encho Serrano in the lineup.
